The Dredge at Dayton is seen circa 1940. The pond and dredge was on the right of the road to the cemetery. The huge bucket is on the end of the crane on the "Walking Monigan," a large piece of equipment. It was fitted with devices that moved in a walking motion instead of tracks that go round and round. It was quite a novelty and people came from all over to see it in operation. The man in the foreground is C.W. "Rocky" Haslett, the chief electrician at the job.
